Floresta - Viña Santa Rita

The Floresta range from Santa Rita has always hugely impressed me. First under the watch of Sebastián Labbé and now Teresita Ovalle, these wines from several valleys throughout Chile are beautiful ly crafted. This line of wines was inspired by the flowers in the labyrinth garden of Doña Paula on the estate in Alto Jahuel.

An exciting addition this year is the Sauvignon Blanc from Leyda, which, with the addition of a touch of Sémillon, adds a differ ent dimension to the wine. Yet it is the Carménère from Apalta that steals the show. From old centenarian vines, this is a wonderful example of Carménère (one of the many we saw this year). The Field Blend White, also from Apalta, is a masterclass in textu re, richness and freshness. This range gives a wonderful snapshot of some of Chile ’ s finest terroirs and never fails to impress. Alongside this, they are also remarkable value for money.
