There is a leather note on the nose, with liquorice, red fruits, damson and a subtle leafy character as well. The tannins are present and structured, with a chewiness to them; the oak is there, but adding structure more than flavour or overt oak character. A powerful palate with density, and with a liquorice note that comes through as well, alongside the earthy notes and balsamic character.
