A smoked note to the dark fruit cloak on the nose, with a herbal note as well, plus violets and thyme. A really juicy attack, but with a sweetness and ripeness to the fruit. The tannins are polished and very well judged. This is a wine that needs time to open up, to express itself in the bottle. Dark fruits and real density. Youthful, with leather and balsamic notes coming through on the long finish, with attractive acidity. Powerful, sleek, and needs time.
