Very youthful nose which is a little shy and reserved at the moment. Underneath, there is a herbal streak of bay leaf and liquorice with crushed fig and dried leaves. Very tightly coiled on the palate, with firm, taut, and chiseled tannins that dominate, surrounded by a zesty fresh acidity and a hit of violets, rose, and black cherry. This wine has a beautiful tension and density. A cool balsamic acidity really shines through on the palate. Superb.
