The nose has plenty of cassis and sweet five spice, with a chewy, inviting aroma that has a subtle note of wet tobacco. The palate is juicy, defined, and sweet with ripe cassis, as well as a cedar note and firm, ripe, clay-like tannins. The oak is toasty on the finish yet never dominates the wine. The acidity is attractive and lifts the wine, with a floral note at the end that enhances it.
