The nose is really expressive: cedar and black pepper, lavender and blueberry notes. There is a real weight here and a coffee note, spice and meat notes as well. The oak is there and really well integrated, with a leather note as well. This needs time — there is a lovely saline acidity and freshness. There is no lack of concentration or intensity, it just needs time to unfurl itself. A very smart wine.
