The nose shows some pyrazine, pepper and herbal notes, with a slight menthol note and cocoa. The spiced notes come through on the palate, with herbal grip and firm but fine tannins, dark fruit and good structure. A saline note and real grip – needs a little food to tame the tannins. A really well-balanced wine, screaming for some roasted duck.
