Alistair Cooper is a British Master of Wine and an independent wine writer, judge, consultant and educator with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He writes for JancisRobinson.com and is a regular contributor to Decanter Magazine and Decanter.com, where he writes as a specialist on the wines of South America as well as other countries. He has collaborated for many other publications such as The Spectator, Harpers, Meiningers Wine Business International and Drinks International.

He is a regular judge at The Decanter World Wine Awards and is a panel chair for the IWSC, as well as President of South America’s most prestigious wine competition, the Catad’Or World Wine Awards. Alistair travels to South America several times a year as a judge, educator, and consultant. He is also the global consultant wine buyer for the Sydney based Australian company United Cellars, Australia’s largest independent wine merchant.

President of Catad'Or World Wine Awards. Member of the executive committee of VINOFED. With a Wine Diploma from the Catholic University of Chile, he is a renowned expert and international consultant in wine marketing and territorial development. He has been appointed as a commissioner by the OIV for international wine competitions in Slovakia and France.

International judge in numerous international wine competitions across different continents, which has provided him with significant knowledge of wines from various wine-producing regions around the world.

He has contributed to the newspaper El Mostrador and the magazines Placeres and Gentes. He wrote a weekly column for Editorial Televisa and the magazine CARAS, and has collaborated with international media, such as the magazine of the of the Union of French Oenologists. He is also a recognized professional musician for his band Upa! in the 1980s.
