An expressive nose with hints of bacon spice, earth and tobacco over cherry fruit. The palate is juicy, with firm and powdery tannins, showing some development alongside leafy and earthy notes. Some spice and the tannins are quite forward and present. There is good fruit to balance it, but this certainly needs to be served with food — lamb or beef would be ideal.
