Super pale in the glass. Very intriguing nose with red fruits, redcurrant, raspberry and forest floor. The palate has a slight smokiness and a juicy mid-palate, with very light, sandy tannins and a really pure feel to it. The smokiness comes through on the finish, accompanied by a herbal note and hints of smoked charcuterie. Lovely concentration of fruit and in a wonderful place at the moment — this would work beautifully as a wine by the glass in a wine bar. It even has a hint of orange wine character, with jasmine and chamomile notes on the finish.
