History
The story of Concha y Toro began in 1883 with its founder Melchor Concha y Toro's ambition to create the finest wines. That tradition has endured over the years and continues to inspire the passion and pursuit of excellence behind its brands.
With more than 140 years of history and a presence in over 130 countries, Concha y Toro has been recognised by Drinks International as the world's most admired wine brand, offering consumers distinctive and rewarding experiences.
Today, Concha y Toro continues to build on this legacy through its newly renovated and innovative Wine Centre in Pirque, a state-of-the-art immersive experience that brings together technology, history and wine. Vineyards
Quebrada Seca and San Julián, Limarí Valley
Located 400 kilometres north of Santiago in the renowned Limarí Denomination of Origin, these vineyards offer exceptional conditions for producing world-class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Pirque Viejo, Pirque D.O., Maipo Valley
This historic vineyard lies at 650 metres above sea level, alongside the Maipo River. Most of the vines are grafted, with some own-rooted vines dating back to 1987. The vines are trellised and spur-pruned, with vineyard management focused on controlling vigour and yields.
Peumo, Peumo D.O., Cachapoal Valley
This 650-hectare vineyard has 450 hectares planted with Carménère. The soils are deep, alluvial clay loams, and the climate is Mediterranean, with a prolonged dry season. Warm days and mild nights are moderated by the influence of the Cachapoal River and Lake Rapel. The principal variety is Carménère.
