Intense nose of tobacco, graphite, and gravel. The palate is so plush, tense, and with wonderful spice and such definition. This is a remarkable Carignan - it has spice, liquorice, and overall, pure energy and vibrancy. This is benchmark Carignan from Maule - would it be fair to say that this is home to the world’s finest Carignan vineyards? Based on this showing, the answer is a resounding yes. Superb.

It was an absolute pleasure to be back in Chile to write the third edition of the Alistair Cooper MW by Catad’Or Wine Guide in April of 2024.
