The nose is marked by apple and baked apple notes, and a natural sweetness. The palate has tension and, underneath, there is a wonderful streak of freshness, density and anise. A rich apple skin and a pear note, superbly textured — there is bite here, there is length and weight. A long and powerful finish as well: honeyed, ripe, and with a white flower note too. Superb.
