History
Founded in April 2021 in Valdivia, Bodegas Yámana is the result of the shared vision of three entrepreneurs: Andrea Lizasoain, Juan Guillermo Valenzuela, and Alejandro Commentz. This family business aims to rescue and value local ancestral products, ingredients, and traditions.

Their first product, Mela, which means "apple" in Italian, originates from the rainy and green landscapes of southern Chile. Inspired by Andrea, a teacher and researcher, Mela is a premium sparkling cider that reflects the natural richness of the region. The lemon apple orchards, an endemic fruit of the Los Ríos Region, are set in an idyllic landscape and have a history of more than 400 years since European settlers brought their recipes and traditions to enrich Chilean gastronomy.

The sparkling cider Mela is nourished by the pure waters of the Valdivian Forest, and the incorporation of natural ginger root during fermentation adds a distinctive flavour and health benefits. Its two versions, Extra Brut and Demi-sec, offer options for different palates.

The commitment to quality has led Mela to receive international recognition, such as the silver medal at Catad'Or 2023.

Vineyards
Mela, a premium sparkling cider, is made from lemon apples grown in the Los Ríos Region, specifically in Tralcao, on the banks of the Pichoy River, which flows through the Nature Sanctuary. This region, with fertile soils and a temperate, rainy climate, is ideal for cultivating these fruits that have a unique balance between acidity and sweetness.
