History Viña Riveras del Chillán, located in the historic Itata Valley, continues a family winemaking tradition of over 80 years, originally established as Vinos Chudal. Under the leadership of Gonzalo Chandía Tolosa, the third generation of the family, the vineyard has focused on producing bottled wines with a low-intervention philosophy, aiming to extract the maximum potential from their grapes. Committed to sustainability, they have implemented a renewable energy program that includes a solar plant with 280 panels.
Vineyards Viña Riveras del Chillán has all its vineyards on a single estate located in the Ñuble region, in the city of Chillán, in the Itata Valley. The vineyard is bordered by the Chillán River along its northern side, providing a unique microclimate. Additionally, it features a diversity of soil types on the same plot, including clay soils, river terraces, trumao (volcanic ash soil), stony soils, and clay soils with quartz.
The climate is rainy and very cold in winter, while in summer, there are large temperature differences between day and night, with fluctuations exceeding 25 degrees.
Main cultivated varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, País, Syrah, Malbec, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer.
