History
Mujer Andina Wines was founded in 2012 with the launch of Chile’s first organic sparkling wine made using the traditional method, crafted from Syrah grown in the iconic Maipo Valley. From the outset, the winery has focused on producing sparkling and signature still wines to the highest quality standards, following a predominantly organic and environmentally sustainable philosophy. Its aim is to surprise with every bottle, with meticulous attention to detail for an increasingly discerning, curious, and conscientious consumer.
The majesty of the Andes Mountains and the dedication of those who live on this side of the world, in the south of the Americas, inspired the name of this boutique winery. Led by winemaker Andrea Jure Duarte, Mujer Andina produces three lines of still wines — one rosé and two reds — and three lines of sparkling wines, which are the heart of the project.
In sparkling wines, Levita and Grand Levita form the premium, limited-production range, crafted using the traditional method from 100% organic grapes. Ai! Brut — a classic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay — has twice been awarded Best Sparkling Wine in Chile in the USD 10–20 category by Carlos Boetch’s Guía de Vinos Íconos de Burbujas. Livianita de Sangre, an innovative sparkling wine cocktail (Brut Zero), is gluten-free, vegan, and contains no added sugar. Developed as part of a CORFO-supported innovation project, it delivers the same perception of sweetness as a traditional Brut and is the first of its kind in Chile.
In still wines, Kelüna Rosé (Maipo Valley Costa) was named Best Rosé 2023 by the Alistair Cooper MW by Catad’Or Wine Guide. El Infaltable Carménère (Maipo Valley Costa) was recognised as Best Author’s Wine 2024 by the CAV Tasting Panel. El Infaltable Pinot Noir (Cautín Valley, southern Chile) comes from volcanic soils and is aged for over 18 months in French oak barrels.
Its motto says it all: “The Andes, our inspiration; bubbles and wine, our greatest motivation”.
Vineyards
Mujer Andina Wines has a garden vineyard in the locality of Champa, in the commune of Paine, the heart of the Maipo Valley. In this vineyard, vines of various varieties grow, such as Syrah, Pinot Noir, Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Chardonnay. In addition to cultivating these grapes, the winery carefully selects grapes for their sparkling wines from different valleys throughout Chile. Their wine offerings span the country, with wines designed for each occasion and specific terroirs, covering areas from the Maipo and Cachapoal Valleys to Peralillo in the Colchagua Valley. They also include productions from the southern Biobío Valley and, for their El Infaltable Pinot Noir line, they explore the more southern regions, with grapes sourced from Nueva Imperial and Cholchol in the Cautín Valley.
