History Viña Matetic is a family-owned winery producing premium wines, located between the coastal valleys of San Antonio and Casablanca. The pronounced influence of the maritime climate and its granitic soils, together with the organic and biodynamic management of its vineyards, give rise to wines with a genuine sense of place.
At the heart of this area lies the Rosario Valley, an enclave offering ideal conditions for cultivating cool-climate varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Grenache, Merlot, Malbec, and Syrah, among others. Situated between the Pacific Ocean and the slopes of the Coastal Range, it is a completely enclosed valley running perpendicular to the sea. Its proximity to the ocean brings cool nights, morning mists, and afternoon sea breezes — factors that encourage slow grape ripening, resulting in wines with fresh acidity and intense flavours.
Since its inception, Viña Matetic has embraced sustainable agriculture, founded on respect and care for both the land and its people. Vineyard management is rooted in organic and biodynamic practices — a hallmark of the estate — with the aim of expressing, as authentically as possible, the identity of this unique terroir, reflected in its Corralillo, EQ, and flagship Matetic ranges.
Vineyards With 120 hectares spread across four estate-owned vineyards, Viña Matetic cultivates a carefully selected range of white and red varieties in the coastal valleys of San Antonio and Casablanca, where the influence of the Pacific Ocean and the diversity of granitic soils define the character of its wines.
