History
Viña Las Veletas was born from the shared vision of renowned winemaker Rafael Tirado and Raúl Dell'Oro, the owner of a prestigious vineyard in San Javier, home to ancient Carignan and País vines. In 1998, driven by a passion for wine and a strong commitment to creativity, they embarked on the noble endeavour of crafting exceptional wines for their close circle. While this project has grown over time, it has retained its essence, always prioritising quality over quantity.

Vineyard
Located in Loncomilla, near San Javier in the Maule Valley, the 310-hectare vineyard of Las Veletas benefits from a unique terroir. The combination of a dry Mediterranean climate during the grape ripening period and cool night breezes from the Pacific Ocean creates an ideal environment for viticulture. The granitic and clay soils, characterised by low organic matter, contribute to the production of grapes with exceptional quality and great concentration, yielding low quantities per hectare. Only a small fraction, less than 20%, of this vineyard is selected for the production of Las Veletas wines, which are still hand-harvested, ensuring that each bottle reflects the commitment to excellence that defines this winery. Principal planted varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, País, Petit Verdot, Carménère, Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Carignan, and Viognier.
