History
Las Veletas was born from the vision of businessman Raúl Dell'Oro, owner of a prestigious vineyard in San Javier, in the heart of Maule, where old heritage vines of Carignan and País still grow. Driven by the desire to restore these century-old varieties and to develop new vineyards, a story began — one marked by passion, the land, and the wind.

A turning point came in 2017 with the arrival of renowned winemaker Rafael Tirado, whose experience and sensitivity gave fresh impetus to the project. Since then, Las Veletas has evolved into a unique winemaking venture, where work on hillside terraces and the expression of the terroir give rise to wines of character, depth, and elegance.

At Las Veletas, the wind never stops. It blows in from the coast, carrying with it the freshness of the ocean and the spirit of this fertile land. Each cluster ripens under its influence, shaped by its invisible energy. Like the cockerel that heralds a new day, its wines have soul, strength, and deep roots in Maule. Here, tradition moves freely, like the wind: alive, untamed, and authentic.

Vineyard
Located in Loncomilla, near San Javier in the Maule Valley, the Las Veletas vineyard sits on a privileged terroir. The Mediterranean climate, with its dry, hot summers, is tempered by the cool night breezes that drift in from the Pacific Ocean, creating ideal conditions for precision viticulture.

The granitic soils, with clay content and low levels of organic matter, provide a demanding environment that naturally limits yields and enhances the concentration and quality of the fruit.

With 340 hectares under vine, Las Veletas is renowned for the diversity and excellence of its vineyards, where varieties such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Carménère, Grenache, Mourvèdre, País, Petit Verdot, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier are cultivated. However, only a small fraction of this fruit — carefully harvested by hand — is selected to produce its wines. Each bottle reflects an unwavering commitment to quality, respect for origin, and a constant pursuit of identity.
